June Loons Feature
Thanks to Natalie for featuring my necklace and earrings in her blog.
Natalie, thank you so much for being such a help and support with the June Loons, which is a group of Folksy people who have tried to challenge themselves to list hand made items daily.
This is one of Natalies beautifully presented fossils.
Finished my Green Socks!
Finally finished my Green Socks. The feel is so soft, wool from Abstract Cat
The pattern is from Socks from the Toe Up by Wendy D Johnson
They are so gorgeous! How can I wear them on such a hot day?

Making Playdough
I have been making a bit of play dough.
This is how I made it:
2 mugs flour
1 mugs salt
4 tablespoons cream of tartar
4 tablespoons sunflower oil
blue food colouring
Mix flour, salt and cream of tartar. Add water and mix it up until smooth.
Add food colouring to get desired shade. Add oil. Cook it up stirring all the time until it is leaving the side of the pan.
Don't worry if it is lumpy, that will all smooth out in the kneading.
Don't worry about the pan it will come off really easily if left to soak for a bit.
Turn out mixture onto board to cool.
Knead like bread dough till nice and smooth.
Divide it up and keep in fridge between uses. It will last quite a few weeks.

Llangollen Canal
We had a great half term holiday on a canal boat on the Llangollen Canal in North Wales last week. We were so lucky with the weather and such astoundingly beautiful scenery. Good too for a bit of teenagers revision as the pace is very slow and relaxing, but no distractions of TV or internet and hardly any mobile phone coverage.
We saw herons and kingfishers on the canal and no amount of ducks and ducklings.
Got to put those teenagers to work!
We visited Chirk Castle on the journey which was a good long walk and they have a brilliant farm shop so we stocked up on local produce pork pie, welsh bacon and veg.
Beautiful garden at Chirk castle.
